We had the first big snow of the year a few days ago. The snow started falling on Wednesday afternoon. People at Carl's work were given the permission to go home by noon due to a 6 inches of snow forecast. Carl decided to stay later since it didn't look that bad yet and he works not too far from our apartment, and he figured that the bus would handle the snow alright. He left work around 4:30 pm, not too long after it started snowing. The view outside was very pretty from our living room. Mikelle and Rianne were pretty entertained watching the snow fall through the glass doors.

Carl called and told me that the traffic was pretty bad, cars were essentially stagnant, and that he was walking to the mall from his work to take bus 28 that would take him home. Roads were so bad that he ended up walking all the way to our place (3.4 miles / 5.5 km for that route). I was happy that he made it home safe after more than an hour of walking - he said it was a good exercise and, knowing him, I am sure he enjoyed being out where the action was.  We were pretty entertained looking outside and felt bad for those people who were stuck in the traffic for hours.  Route 7 outside our window was still full when we went to bed after 10 pm.

We decided to take our babies out the following day for some pictures and to see the view. They normally get a little cranky early in the afternoon and going out ended up to be a good entertainment for them, for us all. I don't like being cold but I did love being out with snow making things all white - very pretty! I especially enjoyed looking at the trees.

Here are some of the pictures that we took.

Glad Carl made it back safe! Traffic was a mess.

Your snow pictures are so cute. They inspired me to stop stressing about life, take a break, and to go out and enjoy the snow.
