Our girls are very active and energetic. They are good climbers and big talkers. They as well need a lot of attention and interaction.  Most of my days are normally spent with and for them. Nap time is necessary for my sanity. This is the only "alone time" I normally get during the day. Sibling rivalry is definitely a big issue between them lately. They always fight over anything that has something to do with me like reading, dancing, cuddling, playing, sitting, and many others. They as well tend to consciously annoy each other once in a while. Whining is my least favorite thing to deal with, which they can do all day on bad days. On good days though, which are many as well, my girls are such a treat. It is entertaining when they play and talk to each other happily. One key to keep them happy is to fill their hours with activities. So, my usual question is "What to do next?". Here are some of the things that we have done in the past.

 Stickers are always a hit
 They love posing for pictures
 Blocks are fun too!
 They like to dress up.
They love books. They can't get enough of them.
 They love being read to.
They like working with their hands.
They love watching Blue's Clues every day before lunch time.
This gives me enough time to prepare their food.
They love collecting rocks during our morning walks.

Taking care of two toddlers is a lot of work but it is as well a blessing to be able to stay home with them and enjoy the many things that they bring into our lives. Yes, motherhood is challenging but their smiles and hugs are all worth it. It is a blessing as well to have a husband who not only shares the load but brings home flowers on hard days.

I appreciate the thoughtfulness.

How about play dough? That and some cookie cutters and small plastic toys kept my kids busy for hours. Here is my recipe:
1 cup flour
1/2 cup salt
1 cup water
1 TBSP vegetable oil
1 TBSP cream of tartar

Stir over medium heat til it forms a ball and pulls away from the sides of the pan. Knead a few times. You can knead in some food coloring. This keeps for months in a plastic bag. Mom

What a great attitude. Taking care of our kids is certainly what stay-at-home motherhood is all about! It's exhausting but so rewarding. Way to go, Carl, for the flowers!
